The Large Box
Happy almost Halloween! Enjoy the candies but let’s try not to overdo it cuz:
Our first new Writ Large Projects, um, project is here. It’s something we’ve never done before, although obviously many others have. There are wonderful book subscription services out there, some with just books, some with bags of coffee, even some with candles and such.
What will be in The Large Box, you ask? Well:
Four books of all different genres
All indie titles
Majority Black, Indigenous, POC, Queer authors
Newest Writ Large Press title; for our first box it will be A.I.R. Head by Alan Nakagawa
Books you may not normally choose, but we believe is interesting & important
A mixtape from Soul Together Radio (DJs Dez Hope & Peter Woods)
Surprise gift in each box!
We are starting very small, limited to 25 subscriptions for this first shipment. Hopefully we’ll get a better sense of scale (whether to make it less than 25 or expand beyond it) and also learn how to run a book box subscription efficiently.
Our main goals for this project are: 1) to let the books we pick reflect where our POV is in 2022 so you’ll have a better sense of who we are; 2) dip our toes into engaging with the public again because, to be honest, we are still full of anxiety about doing big scale in-person events during our ONGOING pandemic; 3) to begin building up our finances as we continue on our Writ Large Books & Collaborative initiative.
It’s $80/box or $300/year (4 boxes a year).
